THE VOICE GOD GIVES TO YOU

By Kat CrawfordÓ2006

My husband Gary has this big bass voice that twiggles the rafters of every church. I compared myself to him and questioned God. “Lord, why did he get all that sound and You just gave me the heart to sing like an angel?”

Then three years ago an authors group challenged me to find a lifetime Bible verse. When I flipped my devotional calendar on my desk I read Psalm 104:33-34.

I will sing to the Lord all my life.

I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

May my meditation be pleasing as I rejoice in the Lord.

God whispered in my heart, “My desire for your voice is the pen. Do not compare yourself to Gary or others. Do not desire what I have not chosen for you. Use your heart and voice on paper. Write, girl, write words of praise for me that others may know Jesus. Give others hope through your words.”

Tears formed in my eyes. God chose me for my own mission.

He trusted me to use my voice and gave me a song in my heart to encourage.

What talent has God chosen for you?

Are you using it to lift others?

Join me in the mission before us—lift your voice for Him.
